Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the ChoosyChat Chrome extension (“the extension”) and the ChoosyChat website (“the site”) handle, and why. The short version: your video chat is analyzed on your own computer and is never uploaded, recorded or stored.

1. Video and face data

On supported video chat sites, the extension reads frames from the other person's video element and runs face detection and classification locally in your browser using models bundled with the extension. Frames are processed in memory and discarded immediately. We do not collect, store, transmit or sell video, images, screenshots, face data, biometric templates or detection results. None of it ever reaches us or any third party.

2. Information stored on your device

• Settings (your filters and preferences) are saved with Chrome's storage. If you use Chrome Sync, Google syncs them between your browsers under Google's privacy policy.
• Usage counters (skips today, total skips, matches) stay on your device and are used to show your stats and apply the free daily limit.
• License details (your Pro license key, its activation ID and status) stay on your device.

3. Information sent over the network

• License checks. When you activate Pro, and roughly once a day afterwards, the extension sends your license key, its activation ID and a device label (for example “Chrome on macOS”) toLemon Squeezy, our payment provider, to confirm the license is valid.
• Site compatibility updates. About once a day the extension downloads a small public file fromhttps://choosychat.com listing button locations for supported chat sites. This request contains no personal information, though our hosting provider may log standard request data such as IP address and browser type.
• Welcome and uninstall pages. The extension opens a welcome page on https://choosychat.com when installed and a feedback page when uninstalled.

The extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

4. Purchases

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing details and payment information to complete your order, send your license key and handle taxes and refunds. We receive order details such as your name, email and what you bought, but never your full card number.

5. The website

The site itself does not use cookies or analytics. The pricing section loads Lemon Squeezy's checkout script, and the checkout window may use cookies under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

6. How we use information

We use order and license information only to provide Pro, answer support requests, prevent abuse of licenses and meet legal and tax obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information.

7. Retention and your choices

Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your device. You can remove a license from a device at any time from the popup. To access, correct or delete order information we hold, emailsupport@choosychat.com.

8. Age requirement

ChoosyChat is intended for adults aged 18 and over, the same as the video chat sites it supports.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

ChoosyChat's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
